Emilia Clarke Will Find The Beauty Inside For Fox 2000
Of all the many, many actors and actresses that roam the fantastical lands of Westeros, Emilia Clarke has scooped up a series of enticing roles beyond the parameters of Game of Thrones. From poignant romance in Me Before You to full-blown blockbuster territory with Terminator Genisys, not all of Clarke’s film roles have turned out exactly as planned – Genisys, for instance, was angled as a bona fide franchise-starter at Paramount, but scathing reviews and a low box office turnover forced the studio to scale back plans quite dramatically.
James Cameron’s iconic sci-fi series still has a future, it seems, but it’s one that won’t involve Emilia Clarke’s Sarah Connor, for better or worse. The actress still has plenty of projects cramming up the pipeline – Disney’s Han Solo movie, along with the two-season finale of Game of Thrones – and Deadline is reporting that Clarke has just added another to the slate: The Beauty Inside.
Based on a pitch from Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, The Beauty Inside is an adaptation of the 2015 South Korean film – itself a reimagining of the web series from Drake Doremus – that chronicles the story of a man who wakes up every day in a different body. Falling back on the ol’ ‘it’s what’s inside that counts’ adage, Emilia Clarke has signed on to play the woman who falls madly in love with the as-yet-uncast protagonist, regardless of what he looks like on the outside. Fox 2000 and Temple Hill are the studios behind the body-swapping drama, and we understand both parties will now begin casting the net in search of the film’s male lead(s).
The Beauty Inside is expected to begin filming sometime in 2017. Game of Thrones, meanwhile, will return to the airwaves this summer.
